AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy is the art and use of scents including food grade plant extracts, spices and herbs. In 1907, French cosmetic chemist Rene' Maurice Gattefosse' began studying essential oils with other French scientists; from which comes the famous story of healing a serious burn in the laboratory with “lavender essence”. More people in the medical field and healing arts are using aromatherapy to enhance their healing techniques. We highly recommend you use therapeutic grade essential oils in your careful exploration of essential oils.
Methods of application include three models:
{ French- neat (undiluted) topical application and ingestion
{ German –inhalation of essential oils
{ English –dilute a small amount of essential oil in a vegetable oil and apply to the body for relaxation and to relieve stress
“Essential Oils are aromatic volatile liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, stems, bushes and seeds,” according to D. Gary Young, developer of Young Living Essential Oils. Their chemistry is complex. They consist of unique chemical compounds and quality varies across the industry. Therefore, your education in their use is critical.
